Rajinikanth starts Enthiran sequel, Akshay Kumar roped in
Even as he’s shooting for Kabali, Rajinikanth has started work on his next film with director Shankar , the sequel of Enthiran - the Robot. The shoot of this film started in the city yesterday.
A press statement reveals that though the producer of this film (Lyca Productions) were planning a grand launch for the film, they decided to kickstart in a simple manner due to the recent Chennai floods.
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has been roped in for an important role – rumoured to be that of the villain, a role that was originally offered to Arnold Schwazenegger. Rajinikanth’s leading lady in this film will be Amy Jackson.
Music for the film is by A.R.Rahman and the other crew consists of cinematographer Nirav Shah, art director Muthuraj and VFX Supervisor Srinvas Mohan.
Tamil dialogue writer Jayamohan is pairing with director Shankar for the first time. Also on board the project is Oscar-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty and editor Antony.
The movie is being shot in 3D, with Legacy Effects from USA, the animatronics company that worked on movies like Jurassic Park, Iron Man and Avengers, contributing to it.
