South Indian actresses Parvathi (Mariyaan), Parvathy Nair and Parvathy Menon have been confusing film-goers. “And to add to the confusion, two of us have short hair,” says Parvathy Nair, who was also seen in Uttama Villain. “My next film in Tamil is Enkitta Mothathe, which is a village romance, set in the 1980s in Tirunelveli. The film is largely about the friendship between the two male leads–Natarajan and Rajaji, who play film poster painters, with each showing allegiance to different stars. This creates a problem in their friendship,” says Parvathy, who is paired with Rajaji in the film. Her next will be Pirai Thediya Naatkal, which has completed one schedule. “Pirai…is an urban love story, with Ashok Selvan as the hero, and it will show different sides to a woman’s personality, depending on circumstances,” says Parvathy. She is presently working on two Malayalam films with Vijay Babu and Prithviraj as her leading men.
    Thiru to direct Vikram
Director Thiru (Naan Sigappu Manithan, Samar and Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai) is thrilled about directing Vikram. “Vikram agreed to do the film immediately after listening to the story,” says Thiru. Vikram, meanwhile, has already started work on another film directed by Anand Shankar, in which he is teamed with Nayantara and Nithya Menen.“I understand he plans to shoot both the films simultaneously; my film will be ready early next year. It is an action-based commercial entertainer and Vikram’s role will be something that he has not done so far. We are in the process of finalising the rest of the cast and crew,” says Thiru.
    A murder Mystery
Game and Oru Melliya Kodu are being simultaneously made in Kannada and Tamil, and director A.M.R. Ramesh is going through the eleventh-hour preparations to fine-tune the soundtrack and apply for the censor certificate. He hopes to release the film on January 22.“Oru Melliya Kodu is a murder mystery. Arjun (Sarja) plays a police officer, who is investigating the mystery behind his wife’s (played by Manisha Koirala) murder. The suspect is played by Shaam. Seetha will be doing a strong supporting role,” says Ramesh.Ramesh is also excited that Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music for the film. “It will add great value to the film,” he says.
